Agroecology Summer Apprenticeship: A One Summer Chicago Partnership
In the summer of 2025, in partnership with Alternative School Network, Mama Moore became a One Summer Chicago coordinator– launching our first year of the Agro Ecology Summer Apprenticeship. Spring 2025 Ujima Collective Work Days
Longtime community member, Mama Tchiya, helps harvest cool weather crops like spinach. This year at Mama Moore, our goal was to get our community more involved in the cultivation and development of the garden while teaching tangible skills such as site carpentry, artmaking, and site maintenance. Our First Ujima Collective Work Day
Saturday, April 27th was Mama Moore {Re}Generation Center’s first Ujima Collective Work Day of the year. Ujima is a Swahili principle that recognizes the importance of community coming together to take responsibility for our shared space as we work to address challenges and build toward a collective vision.
